Over 800 people were served at the 46th annual BMCC Christmas Eve Dinner. The Christmas Eve Dinner was the largest ever put on by the BMCC Associated Student Government.
Pendleton Mayor Phillip Houk was the maî·tre d’ at the event. Mayor Houk was assisted by BMCC President Camille Preus in making seating arrangements for the guests. There were 60 tables, with 480 place settings. According to Houk and Preus, the line started at 3:00 pm and by 5:00 pm seating had entered its second rotation, and the line still filled the lobby of the Convention Center and spilled onto the parking lot. The line was manageable by 5:15 pm, but guests were still arriving as late as 6:30 pm.
Dinner consisted of carrots, green beans, stuffing, a roll, mashed potatoes and gravy, and a good portion of ham, generously donated by Hill Meat Company. Desert was apple pie and pumpkin pie. When asked, every guest replied that the meal was great.
All guests received a gift bag, which included a $10 gift card to Bi-Mart and raffle tickets for both the adult raffle and the various children’s raffles. Children also had the chance to meet Santa. After their visit with Santa, the children were led by elves to tables separated according to gender and age where they were able to pick out a beautifully wrapped Christmas gift. Polar Express was also playing on a projector in the corner for the children who wished to watch it.
