In 18 degree weather and two inches of snow, Jose Quezada is working in the old Pendleton City Hall the day after the Pendleton City Council found that the property at 34 SE Dorion Ave constituted a nuisance and voted to pursue code enforcement.
“They’re pushing us too hard,” said Quezada. “We just need to get this done now to show the judge that we mean it.”
Since last weeks report, the framing for the roof has almost been completed. “We have to wait until warm weather before we put the windows in. The building needs to dry out” added Quezada.
In July 2015 an explosion rocked old City Hall, depriving Quezada of his son Eduardo. The Quezada family has self-financed the restoration efforts.
