PENDLETON, Ore. – According to the September 20, 2017 Pendleton Police Department Media Bulletin there was a civil dispute at High Desert Cannabis on SW 20th Street. According to a press release from the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office, Michael Alan Parker was escorted by Pendleton Police from High Desert Cannabis after causing a disturbance. Later in the day, Parker is said to have assaulted two men at a marijuana grow site in Hermiston, Oregon.
According to the narrative, two deputies responded to an address on Highway 395 near Hermiston regarding a report of a reckless driver and assault. The deputies were told that Parker had assaulted two men and had attempted to run them over with his vehicle. The property owner stated that Parker was not allowed on the property and that he had been asked to leave numerous times, but had refused.
Parker is said to have started fighting with the men and told them that they would need guns to keep him away from the property. Parker is then said to have gone to his vehicle and attempted to run the men over, but hit a fence and got stuck. Parker ran away, and the two men left the property to call law enforcement. When the men returned to the location they found that property had been damaged.
Parker was arrested for Attempted Assault II, Assault IV, two counts of Criminal Mischief I, Criminal Mischief II, Criminal Trespass II and two counts of Menacing. An Oregon Online Judicial Department Online Records search does not show that charges have been filed. As of 7 p.m. September 22, 2017 Parker is not being held at the Umatilla County Jail.
Staff at High Desert Cannabis had no comment regarding the dispute at the dispensary on September 20.
Sources speaking on condition of anonymity insist that Parker is a secret owner of High Desert Cannabis. Pendletonian Times could not verify these claims within a reasonable doubt.
